Adult Companion Services

What is Companionship?

Companion services provide non-medical social support, supervision, and meaningful interaction for adults who may benefit from having someone present during their day. Companionship can be especially valuable for individuals who spend significant amounts of time alone or who would benefit from additional social interaction and engagement.

Minnesota defines adult companion services as non-medical care, supervision, and socialization for adults. Sometimes care isn't about bathing, medication, or cleaning.

Sometimes it is simply about having another person there. A conversation over coffee. A walk around the neighborhood. Playing a favorite game. Looking through family photographs. Going to an appointment or community activity. Having someone who listens.

Companionship With Purpose

We don't believe companionship should mean simply sitting in the same room. Our goal is to discover what makes each client feel engaged and connected. For one person, that may mean talking about grandchildren. For another, it may mean gardening, listening to music, watching sports, attending religious activities, cooking, or taking a walk.

We focus on the person behind the care plan. Our caregivers are encouraged to learn about each client's interests, personality, routines, and preferences so that companionship feels natural rather than forced.

We also understand the importance of cultural and religious connection. For families who value faith, community, language, and cultural traditions, finding a caregiver who understands those values can make a meaningful difference.
